Glen > 67006 pilots 67026 with a VSOE luncheon trip from Plymouth to Taunton on 27 April, 2013. A long lens setting was used for this view from Shaldon Bridge at Teignmouth because the front of the lead locomotive would have been in too much shadow had the train fully rounded the curve. And as the tide was almost out, this 'cropped -in' view obviated too much debris-strewn beach in the foreground. Network Rail insist that this heavy, 12-coach train is double-headed over the Devon Banks, although this was probably unnecessary caution given the dry rail conditions at the time.

Glen > 67026 pilots 67006 pass Dawlish Promenade on a Taunton to Plymouth VSOE trip. The curve by the footbridge would have hidden the lovely old Pullman coaches had I chosen the lower-level shot so I climbed to the top of the cliff for this view, then all but obliterated by unchecked vegetation growth. 27/04/2013.

Glen > The Paignton and Dartmouth line's Class 25 number D7535 rarely sees passenger duties apart from occasional banking assistance for visiting tours. However, on 4 May 2013, the 'rat' was chartered by the Devon Diesel Society to work five round trips on the line, raising cash for the restoration of the Society's 50002 'Superb' and for much-needed bodywork repairs to the Class 25 . With Brixham and Berry Head as a backdrop, the 'rat' is seen passing Waterside Caravan Park, Saltern Cove, with the 15:45 Kingswear to Paignton ‘Seaside Sulzer’ charter service.

Glen > 47786 and 47854 storm through Totnes double-heading Statesman Rail's 'Cornish Riviera Statesman' tour from Crewe to Penzance on 11 May, 2013. Totnes is situated on a short level section at the foot of two of Devon's fearsome banks: Dainton to the east, with a gradient of 1-in-37 at its steepest point, and Rattery to the west, with a section at 1-in-46. The exhaust from the West Coast '47s shows that power has already been re-applied for the attack on Rattery.
