The proper place to begin a journey to East Anglia, and it's worth taking a few minutes to look beyond the here today, gone tomorrow retail facade of the modern concourse to admire some of the original 1874 architecture. Here is the East Side on 16 April 2018, and it's hard not to recall old photos of B12s, Britannias, Class 31s and 'Clacton & Walton' EMUs lined up at the stops here. I commuted through Liverpool St from 1977 and saw (and suffered!) much of the rebuilding work in the late-1980s.
